Alex Rodriquez Highest Paid Player
Alex Rodriguez he two gigantic record-breaking contracts through his career. Alex Rodriguez first, was a $252 million, 10-year contract with the Texas Rangers in December 2000, if you take inflation into account it would be worth some where near $321 from year 2000 dollars. Sandy Alderson said this was a ”stupefying deal,” Sports Illustrated reported Alex Rodriguez early contract salaries were about ($21 million). This was at the time greater than the annual payroll of some MLB Teams which were in a range of about ($16 million at the time). Alex Rodriguez Contract deal was the largest contract in sports history.
In fact it doubled the full value of what Kevin Garnett’s $126 million National Basketball Association contract was who had held the highest contract up to that point. It also doubled Mike Hampton’s $121 million contract, also a previous MLB record which had been signed just days before. The Texas Rangers later traded Alex Rodriguez to the Yankees for Alfonso Soriano before the 2004 season, though they agreed to pay $67 million of the $179 million outstanding on his contract. I wasn’t long after this that Alex Rodriguez and (in my opinion the dumbass Yankees, who didn’t demand he play out his original contract), opted out of the original deal soon after the 2007 season and renegotiated a new $275 million, 10-year agreement with the Yankees, breaking his own record for the largest sports contract.
Alex Rodriguez under this new deal, also receives $6 million each if and when he ties the career home run totals of Willie Mays (660), Babe Ruth (714), Hank Aaron (755), and Barry Bonds (762), along with another $6 million for breaking Bonds’ mark.

What do you think are these contracts such as Alex Rodriguez, getting so much, should the fans put their hard earned money towards these players? Are the Highest Paid Players in all Sports just Greedy egotistic kids, along with the owners?
