Top Payrolls In MLB
What are the 5 Best teams in MLB to be of fan?
For me is: 1. Cubs-who have not won a WAS in 102 years and are the worstways to lose. 2. Mets’ I’m a Mets fan, and its just sad. Everyone hates this team demands it all, and have the highest payroll in MLB third and winning 79 games. Besides, that’s what happened in recent years with suffocation, do not come through the clutch, and injuries. 3. Pirates-20 losing seasons row. ‘Nuff Said. 4. Indians-the oldest team to never win a World Series. 5. Royals-La Worst team in MLB for years, and although it was a good start, I still do not see them winning more than 70 games. The Mets have the fifth largest payroll in MLB. Sorry.
I agree with you, I’m a Met’s fan MLB is the best, . 1. Cubs-year 102 was the drought in MLB, has not been there since 1940. In the last decade, especially painful for Cubs fans. 2003 – Steve Bartman Incident, 2004 – Cardinals (his rival) vs. Red Sox (another team with a curse too long). Sox win so the Cubs and White Sox the only team in MLB with 80 years WS droughts; 2005 – White Sox (Crosstown rival, as the Mets and Yankees) to win the SE, ending their MLB World Series drought, 2006 – The biggest rival St. Louis Cardinals WIN WAS, 2007 and 2008 – Cubs to the playoffs, are swept in the NLDS two years, 2009 – Cubs again chosen by many as preseason favorites and was given a season to win with 85 MLB wins, 2010 – Only a disaster for the Cubs 2. Mets, for all reasons you said. I feel the pain 3. Pirates-4 for the same reasons. Cleveland sports teams are cursed! 4.Mariners-I disagree about the Royals, who have a boatload of young talent. It’s amazing how many excellent prospects they have in their system! The Royals might well win the MLB World Series in the next 5 or 6 years! Mariners on the other hand, are in a difficult season I feel. They really have no crime, Felix and others (which could be changed) in not really have much pitching. In addition, his best player ever retired last year and his legendary broadcaster died last winter. Sounds like a miserable time in Seattle. Furthermore, we are talking about a team whose most famous moment in which winning MLB’s ALDS against the Yankees (despite winning 116 games in the year 2001 is very good). The Yankees just celebrate when they win a division series, they only shake hands with each other and give each other a pat on the back! They have also had bad years so many stars leave their city (Griffey Jr, Big Unit, Arod)
If the MLB to institute a salary cap, which would be the number?
My guess is that would be in the range of $ 90 million. How teams like the Yankees ($ 195 million 07 ‘) and Red Sox ($ 143 million 07′) will be affected in the short term after the cap was instituted? They must begin to cut only the best players to be on the cover? Was given a grace period of a couple of years to get gradually lower their payroll? Only serious answers please save your “Yankees suck, you can only buy the playoffs” for some other questions.
I believe that if the cap be instituted that would be closer to $ 120 million. The reason is that trying to reduce the payroll of some of these teams is going to be ridiculously hard. Take the Yankees as an example. If you put a salary cap of $ 90 million, which would have to reduce their payrolls in half to be in the right ballpark. With the flip $ 90 million, will be 10 to 12 teams try to reduce their payroll, which will make it difficult for teams to deal with the best talent. The Yankees have currently the top 3 highest paid athletes in ’07, the guys making a total of $ 65 million (Jeter, Arod, Giambi )…. players with a salary cap that no want, especially not for that amount of money. I say go with $ 120 million, because then there will be only 2-3 teams cutting payroll, it will be easier to reduce their payroll, and there will be more trading options.
